Hey there Elbo Room! Me and my two good friends stopped by on Nov 1 at 10am with 10 pieces of luggage... We walked in and loaded the luggage in the corner and Paul took us under his wing... I spent many a Sunday at the Elbo Room.. me and my friends were working as Nanny's and once we had a day off we drank up large and admired the sites of Fort Lauderdale. I sold the Miani News newspaper in the Elbo Room in 1958. I was 11 years old, so they would throw me out on the steet when they causght me selling the papers. Back then the paper was a nickel and most patrons gave me a dime for quater. I would take a swim every day in the ocean accross the steet, the higher the waves the better, I loved the storms and the wind and high waves.

i visited the elbo room this summer. I drank all day, by the time I left I was so wasted I could hardly stand. I drove anyway and got picked up by the cops. I blew a .31. The cops laughed as i proceded to urinate myself while laughing histerically and chanting "Miami sucks". Never the less, the cops let me go, probably cause i smelled like piss. Thanks for a great time-Elbo room and the beach were paradise!! And, my husband, Jim and I visited on March 24, 2003 thru March 29, 2003. My deepest condolences to Aija's family, friends and co-workers at the ROOM. Just stopped in to read what's up on the web site and found out this very sad news. While Aija's path crossed our group when we we were down there in October, she left a very memorable impression and treated us as though we were long lost friends! You are in my prayers Aija!
